1Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempteda by the devil. 2After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
After a time we may lose our zeal and excitement about Jesus and become lax in our spiritual lives. If we are not facing the light and doing the the "things" of God, then we leave ourselves open to temptation just like Jesus in Matthew chapter 4.
Who are you hanging around with the most? What are you filling your head with? Are you in The Word? Is God Using you?
This week I heard the new single from the Christian band Switchfoot called "Where The Light Shines Through". The song repeats "The scars are where the Light shines though" meaning God will use our past traumatic experiences for good but only if WE let him. If we go into a prolonged period of spiritual dryness, then we let the enemy win! We are not letting God's Grace flow through us and we are not allowing ourselves to become an extension of Him. Plus, I would expand this to say that if we go "dry", then God isn't able to use our unique spiritual gifts to further His Kingdom either. So make yourselves available to God by digging into his word, filling your car with Christian music, or joining one of our Church's ministries and climb you way out of your spiritual dryness.
Remember, God has a plan for each and every one of us! Where is the Light shining though in your life?
Also how do you think God is using this young autistic boy to further his Kingdom? Check it out! It has over 10 million views on Youtube alone!
